If you are not a U.S. Citizen, you must be cleared for flight training by the Transportation Security Administration's (TSA's) Flight Training Security Program (FTSP) through the following steps prior to starting flight training (click on each step for more detailed information):

1. Verify that you have an appropriate visa.
2. Preparations.
3. Ensure that you have a valid email address.
4. Create a login account on TSA’s FTSP website.
5. Apply for training on TSA's FTSP website.
6. Wait for Tallahassee Helicopters to acknowledge your training request.
7. Pay the nonrefundable $130 processing fee to TSA per instructions emailed to you.
8. Look for a “Preliminary Approval” email from TSA.
9. Submit fingerprints to TSA per instructions emailed to you.
10. Wait for TSA to notify you and Tallahassee Helicopters of its decision.
11. Once you have received TSA approval, start flight training!
12. Have your photo taken by Tallahassee Helicopters when you arrive for the first day of training.

Please note that TSA updates their FTSP application web site from time to time. If you notice that any of the above instructions are no longer accurate and need to be revised, we would appreciate if you would let us know of the required changes so we can update our page to provide the clearest, correct, and complete guidance to our international students.
